Job Description

12 hour day shift
Summary:
The Maintenance Lead will assist and fill in during the absence of the Maintenance and Engineering Manager by overseeing the responsibilities of the Maintenance and Engineering Department. The Maintenance Lead will operate the Maintenance and Engineering Department with the company's goals of providing safe and quality food, while achieving the financial goals of Klosterman Bakery. The Maintenance Lead will maintain the facility infrastructure, building, grounds, and all processing equipment to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, company policies and engineering standards and GFSI requirements surrounding food safety and quality.
Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Lead will assist with the overall supervision, employee training and development of the maintenance and engineering department. In addition, the Maintenance Lead will perform the following key tasks and job functions including but not limited to:
  • Ensure the adherence of all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Lead the maintenance and installation of all facility processing equipment, building infrastructure, and grounds.
  • Assure equipment reliability to maximize production line efficiency and productivity.
  • Coach, train, lead and motivate maintenance and engineering personnel to meet planned objectives and respond effectively to emergency maintenance and break down events.
  • Communicate status of the shift to the following shift and other departments who would require the information.
  • Identify equipment and facility deficiencies and ensure the initiation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Assess maintenance and engineering personnel s technical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Provide training as needed to assist maintenance and engineering personnel in meeting performance standards.
  • Partner with peers in the facility to ensure facility equipment meets all regulatory, statutory, customer and company requirements regarding maintenance, cleanliness and safety.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance program compliance and effectiveness.
  • Assist in making operational improvements to reduce costs and to increase productivity.
  • Interfaces with external vendors, manufacturers, and field service personnel.
  • Utilize new technology and lean manufacturing principles and processes to maximize efficiency.
  • Develop a work environment within manufacturing that promotes trust, teamwork, quality and safety.
  • Develop, evaluate, train, and mentor employees.
  • Ensure production of quality products that are in compliance with all regulatory, statutory, customer and company guidelines and requirements.
Ensure all regulatory compliance that is applicable.
Training:
  • Training on this job description will take place initially upon hire, annually, as a refresher, and as needed with changes to personnel and job functions.
