Job Description

Job Summary:
We are a growing local property maintenance and land clearing company (including Cenla Stump Grinding) seeking an experienced Crew Leader to lead our field operations. This hands-on leadership role involves overseeing a small crew, performing and directing stump grinding, light forestry mulching, grading, and full grounds maintenance work. You will ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards while representing the company professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a small crew on daily jobs, including stump grinding, brush/forestry mulching, grading/drainage work, debris hauling, and general property maintenance. Operate and train others on specialized equipment (stump grinders, mini loaders with mulcher/grapple attachments, zero-turn mowers, etc.). Plan and execute work on residential/commercial properties, lawn contracts, and land clearing projects. Perform quality control, maintain equipment, and handle basic troubleshooting in the field. Communicate with customers and the owner on job progress and any issues. Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, professional work site. Help with scheduling, crew assignments, and mentoring newer team members.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in landscaping, land clearing, or grounds maintenance with proven leadership skills. Hands-on knowledge of stump grinding, forestry mulching, grading, and heavy equipment operation. Valid driver's license with clean record (CDL or trailer experience preferred). Ability to work outdoors in all Louisiana weather conditions and lead by example. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Must pass background check and drug screening.
