Job Description

GLO Resources is currently looking to hire an experienced Fabrication Shop Foreman who has previously worked in a concrete setting. The rate of pay is between $35- $40 per hour. The schedule is working 6/10's Monday-Saturday, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM.
Position Summary:
The Fabrication Shop Manager is responsible for the planning, directing and coordinating of the fabrication shop and overall daily operations. This role ensures that production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards. The Fabrication Shop Manager manages a team of fabricators, welders and machine operators, coordinating work schedules, monitoring workflow and ensuring proper use of equipment and materials. They are also responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency, safety and profitability of division through effective methods and strategies. The Fabrication Shop Manager reports to the Assistant Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Participates in the ongoing strategic planning process as an integral member of the management team Formulates and implements shop policies and procedures to maximize productivity and output Improves current processes and policies in support of organizational goals Oversee fabrication processes including cutting, welding, machining, and assembly Coordinates Fabrication Shop schedules and ensures production schedules and quality standards are met Serves as the link between production and project management, resolving issues and making decisions in areas of uncertainty Assists in preparing operational budgets for the related division Monitors performance, identifies weaknesses and proposes and implements improvements to all aspects of the operations of the shop Manages quality and quantity of employee productivity within areas of responsibility; conducts quality checks as needed to ensure products meet specifications Manage and mentor shop employees (welders, machinists, fabricators, supervisors) Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training when needed Comply with all Company safety policies and procedures & enforce safety protocols (ex. OSHA standards) Monitor usage of raw materials and tools Proactively coordinate equipment maintenance and repair schedules Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste Maintain records for production output, defects and downtime Prepare shift reports and communicate with management Ordering supplies and materials, coordinating delivery and pick up of fabricated parts, managing inventory of raw materials and consumables Perform take-offs on job plans for ordering materials and fabricating per project as needed Report any unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents & injuries to the Safety department & their manager
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent 5+ years of fabrication experience; 5+ years in a management role Certification in welding or fabrication processes (AWS, ASME, etc.) preferred Basic Proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong and attention to detail & accuracy skills Effective communication skills Basic math and computer skills Must be able to work independently or with a team; willingness to be flexible as needed Consistent, reliable and punctual attendance Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize tasks Knowledge of OSHA and site safety regulations Team player with a focus on safety and precision Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines as required
Physical Requirements:
This position requires constant (70-100%) use hands to finger, hearing (listening) and observing (vision), hand/eye coordination, walking and sitting. Requires Occasional (40-69%) lifting up to 50lbs, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling and feeling. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust & focus. Employees shall be able to be medically qualified by a NON-DOT or other job specific physical.
