This is a senior-level, hands-on leadership role that blends deep technical skill, team coordination, and strong client communication. As the primary on-site leader, you'll guide field technicians, manage complex service and repair projects, and ensure all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards and client expectations. Responsibilities Serve as the on-site team leader, overseeing field technicians to ensure efficient, high-quality execution of all tasks. Coordinate daily field operations, delegating assignments based on team members' skills and project requirements. Lead by example, modeling professionalism, craftsmanship, safety, and accountability at all times. Act as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, maintaining clear, proactive communication and addressing questions or concerns with discretion and respect. Oversee complex service, repair, and maintenance projects, ensuring work is completed to specification, within scope, on schedule, and within budget. Adapt technical approaches to meet specific property conditions, client preferences, and project demands while maintaining exceptional quality standards. Perform and supervise rough and finish carpentry, general maintenance, and advanced repair work as needed. Mentor and train junior technicians through hands-on guidance, constructive feedback, and ongoing skills development. Lead team meetings and field trainings to share best practices, safety updates, and troubleshooting strategies. Conduct detailed quality inspections of completed work, addressing deficiencies immediately and ensuring all projects meet or exceed company and client standards. Enforce strict adherence to company policies and OSHA safety standards, proactively identifying and mitigating potential hazards. Manage and allocate tools, materials, and labor resources efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain productivity. Coordinate with the Client Manager and Director of Field Services to maintain project timelines, resolve challenges, and ensure proper resource planning. Maintain comprehensive documentation for all projects, including materials used, time tracking, issues encountered, corrective actions, photo documentation, and client feedback. Submit detailed project reports and provide regular updates to management regarding progress, risks, and recommendations. Travel to various job sites and support emergency or on-call service needs as required. Model MEC's core values and ensure team alignment with company policies and expectations both on and off the clock. Perform additional related duties as assigned. Location & Commitments This position is based in the Boston/MetroWest area, with daily travel to client properties throughout the region Full-time role (up to 40+ hours per week), with flexibility to work outside of standard business hours as needed to meet project deadlines or client expectations Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. 8+ years of relevant experience, including leadership responsibilities and advanced hands-on expertise in carpentry, general maintenance, and repair. Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, residential construction, and high-end property maintenance. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team while maintaining high standards of quality and accountability. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt quickly in dynamic field environments. Excellent communication skills with a client-first mindset and a commitment to delivering white-glove service. Thorough understanding of OSHA safety standards and the ability to enforce compliance on active job sites. High attention to detail and commitment to workmanship excellence.
