2nd Shift (typically 1:00 PM-till completion)

Position Overview:
The Maintenance Supervisor is expected to direct the maintenance team on day-to-day functions to keep operations running as efficiently as possible. The role will be to guide team members to perform tasks and repairs correctly and in a timely manner to reduce downtime and help productivity. This position will manage technicians on shifts. The qualified individual should have significant previous experience of working in a food production environment and should have the skills to ensure that facility and equipment reliability is in line with production needs. The candidate will require excellent team-building skills to develop a high-performing team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage maintenance activities and staff on a shift, ensuring that production machinery is running efficiently. Control and monitor all aspects of the plant systems, equipment, and machinery. Assign duties and tasks to staff. Oversee the completion of preventative maintenance. Maintain all records and documentation. Communicate daily with production shifts, staff, contractors, and management in relation to any changes or issues on the day. Provide aid and guidance for team members as required. Approve and close completed work orders. Ensure that team members have the correct tools and equipment to perform their duties safely. Ensure that parts and time are accounted for correctly and against the correct asset. Approve team member timesheets. Ensure that the Process Safety Management program is current, and that training and documentation is completed and recorded. Participate in audits as required. Conduct regular walkarounds of the plant, monitoring the workflow. Perform other duties as assigned.
Competencies and Skills:
A valid driver's license is required. Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Comprehensive knowledge of lockout/tagout. Ability to conduct root cause analysis. Following Qualifications Education and Experience:
Education:
Completion of some college coursework in Engineering or a related field is required.
Preferred Education:
Relevant certifications are preferred.
Preferred Experience:
Five or more years of experience performing maintenance duties in a food production environment. Ammonia refrigeration experience/certification highly desired. Experience working in a USDA environment is a plus. Works in a manufacturing plant and in a general office environment. Will be required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment as needed. Will be exposed to the loud noise of plant equipment. May occasionally be exposed to wet, humid conditions, inclement weather, extreme temperatures, and oils. May occasionally be required to work in a highly dangerous place and near moving mechanical parts. May occasionally be exposed to the risk of electric shock. Will require extended hours based on production needs, including work to be performed after regular business hours and on the weekends.
