Are you a hands-on Service Manager, Shop Foreman, or Lead Heavy Equipment Technician ready to take ownership of a growing service operation? Fel-Tech Hammer isa specialized hydraulic breaker repair facility serving contractors, demolition companies, rental fleets, quarries, and construction businesses throughout the Northeast. As demand continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced leader who can oversee shop operations, mentor technicians, and help deliver best-in-class service to our customers. This is a true working-manager position—you'll spend time leading from the shop floor, coaching technicians, solving technical challenges, and ensuring repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. What You'll Be Doing As the Service Manager, you'll oversee the daily operations of our hydraulic breaker repair facility while ensuring exceptional quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Your responsibilities will include:
Shop Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and develop a team of skilled technicians. Assign work based on technician strengths and shop priorities. Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance development. Foster a safe, productive, and accountable work environment. Technical Oversight Guide the repair, rebuild, and testing of hydraulic breakers across multiple manufacturers. Assist technicians with complex hydraulic diagnostics and repair decisions. Review repair plans and ensure quality standards are consistently met. Oversee testing and final inspection before equipment is returned to customers. Estimating & Customer Support Inspect incoming equipment and prepare repair estimates. Develop accurate labor and parts quotations. Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the repair process. Build long-term relationships by providing honest communication and technical expertise. Operations & Inventory Coordinate shop scheduling and workflow to maximize efficiency. Manage parts inventory, supplier relationships, and stock levels. Track shop performance, technician productivity, and repair turnaround times. Identify opportunities to improve shop processes and operational efficiency. What We're Looking For We're looking for a leader who enjoys solving problems, coaching technicians, and delivering exceptional customer service. Required Qualifications 3+ years of hands-on heavy equipment repair experience. 3+ years of leadership experience as a Service Manager, Shop Foreman, Lead Technician, or similar role. Strong hydraulic diagnostic skills, including reading hydraulic schematics and using pressure and flow testing equipment. Experience writing repair estimates and managing work orders. Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with hydraulic breakers. Knowledge of carrier hydraulic system setup and verification. Experience in construction equipment, demolition equipment, mining, quarry, forestry, or heavy equipment repair industries.
