Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Foreman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have mid-level experience in maintenance and repair work on water and sewer utilities, as well as strong leadership and communication skills. The Maintenance Foreman will be responsible for overseeing a team of maintenance technicians, coordinating daily schedules, and ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner by working with the crew. This position will be assigned to the City of Aberdeen Maintenance Shop on Aberdeen Proving Ground and will require a Tier 1 level Background Check, in addition to the standard pre-employment background check. This position requires the applicant to have and maintain a CDL
  • Class B.
Applicants that are not MDE certified will be considered if other requirements are met and have on (1) year to pass one (1) state exam.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance crews Inspect and maintain equipment, machinery, and facilities Order and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations Train and mentor maintenance staff Communicate with management and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities Prepare and maintain maintenance records and reports Operates light and medium-sized construction and power equipment
Requirements:
MDE Collection 2 and Distribution 1 Certifications (both exams must be passed within 1 year of employment) High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance and repair work in utilities, asphalt, and concrete work Proven leadership and supervisory skills Strong knowledge of Water and Sewer Utility systems Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations Proficient in computer applications and maintenance software, GIS, Microsoft Suite Valid CDL required.
