Maintenance Planner/ Supervisor Detroit, Michigan, USA $120 - 130,000 Job Description The Maintenance Planner / Supervisor is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance work while also providing leadership to maintenance personnel . The position ensures safe, reliable equipment operation , compliance with MSHA safety standards , and effective execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs . This role works closely with operations, maintenance teams, contractors, and storeroom personnel to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability in a heavy industrial mining environment . Key Responsibilities Plan and schedule maintenance work orders and develop detailed job plans Lead and support maintenance personnel and shift supervision as needed Ensure compliance with MSHA safety regulations and company safety protocols Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs Coordinate contractors and shutdown / overhaul activities Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment history in CMMS systems Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control system issues Support capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives Conduct inspections in underground and surface mining environments Qualifications 5+ years maintenance leadership or planning experience Background in heavy industrial maintenance (mining, steel, cement, aggregates, manufacturing, etc.) Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability Experience with CMMS systems (SAP preferred) Knowledge of hydraulics, diesel equipment, welding, rigging, electrical systems Exposure to PLC and Allen-Bradley control systems preferred Comfortable working in underground mine conditions and variable shifts Why is This a Great Opportunity Brand recognition, Opportunity for advancement.
