This role is based in the Detroit, MI area, supporting General Motors operations within a high-volume warehouse focused on pick and pack, sequencing, and inventory management. We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to own all maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting uninterrupted GM production.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
Own all maintenance operations across the facility, including equipment uptime and reliability Lead and manage maintenance staff and coordinate third-party vendors Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs for forklifts, conveyors, and warehouse systems Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and facility-related issues quickly to avoid production impact Ensure all maintenance work is performed safely and meets company and regulatory standards Manage parts inventory, vendor relationships, and maintenance-related expenses Maintain maintenance logs, inspection records, and compliance documentation Work closely with operations leadership to support workflow, production demands, and continuous improvement initiatives Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and increase overall efficiency
What We're Looking For:
5+ years of maintenance experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment Previous leadership experience managing maintenance teams Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Experience with material handling equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, and related systems Background in high-volume or automotive operations (GM or similar environment preferred) Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment Familiarity with safety standards and compliance requirements (OSHA, etc.) Valid driver's license required Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc.
