Full-Time About Youth Opportunity & River Oak Youth Center Youth Opportunity is a nationally recognized leader in residential and behavioral health treatment for at‑risk youth. River Oak Youth Center in Evart, Michigan serves youth ages 12 to 17 in a trauma‑informed residential environment focused on mental health stabilization and growth. The center offers therapy, expressive arts, social skills training, educational instruction, and peer support. Youth typically remain 6 to 9 months , participating in individual, family, and group therapy; life skills building; victim‑impact awareness; restorative justice; and pre‑vocational readiness. Small group living units enable a safe setting for healing and preparation for successful reintegration into the community. About the Role Youth Opportunity Investments is seeking a Facility Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, and operational functionality of the River Oak Youth Center campus. This position is responsible for managing facility maintenance operations, supervising maintenance staff, coordinating repairs and projects, and ensuring the building and grounds remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. The Physical Plant Manager plays an important role in maintaining a safe environment for youth and staff while ensuring the facility remains compliant with safety, health, and inspection standards. Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with up to 4% employer match with Immediate Vesting Paid time off (PTO) and holidays - earn 4 hours of PTO every pay period Free RX delivery on most medications Tuition reimbursement and professional development Robust Employee Assistance Program Supportive, mission-driven work environment Key Responsibilities Oversee maintenance and upkeep of facility buildings, grounds, and parking areas Supervise physical plant staff and coordinate daily maintenance tasks Manage facility improvement, renovation, and repair projects Conduct routine building inspections and address maintenance issues proactively Ensure safety and security systems are functioning properly, including building monitoring and access control systems Track and maintain fire, safety, and health inspection requirements and coordinate corrective actions when necessary Work with program leadership to identify maintenance needs and coordinate repairs Manage contractor and vendor work related to facility operations, equipment, and grounds Maintain documentation related to facility maintenance, repairs, and inspections
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience directly related to facility maintenance, building operations, or similar work. Project management experience is preferred.

Strong analytical and organizational skills Ability to communicate effectively with staff and leadership Ability to work within a collaborative management environment Strong planning and problem-solving skills Commitment to professional standards and ongoing development

Valid driver's license and ability to meet company auto insurance requirements Ability to pass background checks and pre-employment screening requirements Physical Demands
  • Must be in good physical health and emotionally stable
  • Able to actively engage with youth, participate in physical interventions, and transport youth or staff as needed
  • Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state
  • Must pass evaluation of physical techniques and certification exams.
