• THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POISITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP

• This position is loced in one of two major divisions within the Logistics Directore (Logistics Group) of an Air Nional Guard Flying Wing.

Its purpose is to provide overall direction and coordinion of subordine work activities within one of three major work functions (Aircraft Generion Division, and the Equipment Maintenance and the Component Repair Branches of the Aircraft Maintenance Division. All three work functions are organized with a number of subordine supervisors due to the scope, volume, and complexity of operions. The work involves the total maintenance of complex, high performance military aircraft, ranging from multi-purpose heavy, multi engine transports to the most modern sophisticed fighters and bombers. All aircraft are fully integred in and are part of the Total Force Mission of the United Stes Air Force. Occupions supervised are somewh similar, in th they all involve maintenance of assigned aircraft to ensure comb readiness; they are dissimilar in their organizional locion, as well as the functional areas, occupional series, and the variety and complexity of systems for which each function is responsible. The occupion and nonsupervisory grade which best reflects the overall work operions supervised is Aircraft Mechanic, WG-8852-10.

Planning:

Plans the overall allocion of personnel, funding and equipment resources to the organizional segments supervised to accomplish work operions which, because of their scope, volume, complexity, operional tempo, and total force integrion must be planned on an annual or longer basis. Because of the Total Force Mission integrion with the USAF, keeps unit assigned Air Nional Guard mission aircraft in comb ready stus and able to be fully integred with USAF aircraft and missions upon activion and regular contingency operions, in addition to daily training and support missions.

Work Direction:

Coordines and directs the work of units supervised. Assigns and explains work requirements to subordine supervisors and sets deadlines. Balances workload for subordine work groups.

Administrion:

Recommends promotion or reassignment of subordine supervisors and reviews personnel actions prepared by them. Makes formal appraisal of supervisors' work performance and reviews employee appraisals submitted by them. Implements safety regulory requirements. Ensures th subordines wear approprie safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. Prepares for and participes in various types of readiness evaluions, inspections, mobilizion and command support exercises, and Operions Other Than War (OOTW). May be required to perform such additional duties as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operion, maintenance of facilities and equipment or to serve as a team member on boards to cope with nural disasters or civil emergencies.
