Interested persons with the proper qualifications include a letter of application and resume Dan Rogers Operations Director, Hudson Area Schools drogers@hudson.k12.mi.us Job Summary The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of all school facilities and grounds. This role ensures a clean, functional, and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors by managing maintenance staff, coordinating repairs, and enforcing safety standards. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the daily work of maintenance and custodial staff Plan, schedule, and oversee preventative maintenance programs Inspect school buildings, systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), and grounds regularly Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and district policies Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies; order materials as needed Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs Prepare maintenance reports, work logs, and budget estimates Train staff on proper procedures, safety practices, and equipment use Support school events by ensuring facilities are properly set up and maintained Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or technical certification preferred) 3-5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a school setting Prior supervisory or team leadership experience Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Skills Leadership and team management Time management and prioritization Communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and safety Basic computer skills for reporting and scheduling It is the policy of the Hudson Area Schools that no person shall, on the basis of sex, color, national origin, or handicap, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination in employment or in any of its programs or activities.
