Job Alerts Position Summary:
Responsible for the overall management of assigned department including administrative, financial, compliance, quality improvement, technical, and personnel activities in accordance with established policies and standards. Meets and consults with system leader for policies, procedures, equipment, and supplies, to promote standardization across the system.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Plans and administers directly, and through subordinate supervisory personnel, the effective management and delivery of facility maintenance services in accordance with all hospital, system and regulatory agency standards. 2. Directs and coordinates facility maintenance activities to insure that services are provided on schedule with quality and cost objectives. 3. Ensures that all facility maintenance activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, federal, and governmental regulations and laws. 4. Develops and trains personnel within the department and reviews and appraises their performance. 5. Establishes facilities organization plan and delegates responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities to appropriate subordinates. 6. Directs, coordinates and oversees major unit projects to the best economic advantage of the corporation. 7. Ensures quality, financial, and customer service objectives are met. 8. Develops, secures approval of and administers capital and operating budgets in order to meet agreed-upon departmental goals and objectives. Develops and implements appropriate methods to monitor adherence to budgets and resolve variances. 9. Improves function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifies, recommends, and implements changes, expansions, and additions. 10. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complies with legal codes and regulations. 11. Stays current on knowledge of technology and state and federal regulations. 12. Performs other related duties as required and directed.
Qualifications:
Required:
β€’ Baccalaureate degree in engineering or related field. β€’ Ten years of facilities experience including at least three years in a managerial role
Preferred:
β€’ Experience in hospital maintenance and engineering. β€’ Quality improvement experience preferred.
