Job Description

MAIN PURPOSE
To lead and coordinate the safe, efficient, and effective execution of mining activities within the Mine Maintenance department. Superintendents at Eagle connect strategy to action, turning site goals into achievable operational plans. They create clarity for Supervisors, build teamwork across departments, and support a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Their leadership directly impacts performance, engagement, and operational outcomes.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES
  • Provide direction, guidance, and support to Supervisors and other direct reports for effective daily execution.
  • Promote teamwork, communication, and alignment across shifts and crews.
  • Coach Supervisors in leadership, planning, and performance management, and build and lead their development plans.
  • Recognize and reinforce desired behaviors and cultural standards.
  • Encourage innovation, ownership, and employee participation in problem-solving.
  • Ensure effective two-way communication between front-line teams and site leadership.
  • Demonstrate visible safety leadership in the field by reinforcing positive behaviours and addressing concerns.
  • Establish processes and procedures for work execution, including WO shop papers, effective shift hand-over, recommissioning, completion, and signoff by technicians and supervisors
  • Participate in and help drive the weekly final maintenance plan review meeting while working in conjunction with mine operations
  • Review and monitor daily, weekly and monthly equipment performance and work management targets
  • Accountable for ensuring accurate Work Order input
  • Complete PM and Pre PM audits in the shops and field on equipment
  • Report on non-conformances to the maintenance plans and related KPI targets
  • Develop the annual budget to support asset strategies, planned shutdowns, and major repairs, while monitoring expenditures by reviewing financial performance, executing necessary reallocations, re-classes, and accruals, and providing clear variance explanations.
  • Develop SOW for vendors and contractors
  • Set team goals and expectations based on departmental and mine objectives
  • Ensure training requirements matrix based on employee skill and competencies is developed
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 15+ years of relevant heavy equipment asset and/or maintenance management experience
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment, asset management and maintenance
  • Mining or related experience preferred
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite and

HSEC ACCOUNTABILITIES

Eagle Mine LLC is responsible for determining steps required to ensure health and safety of all employees, protection of the environment, and the community. Specifically, all employees must:

  • Identify hazards, unsafe actions, and conditions that could result in damage to property, injury, impacts to the environment, and the community
  • Obey any instruction issued to protect their own personal health and safety, and the health and safety of others, protection of the environment and the community.
  • Report, as soon as practicable to their Manager any situations where HSEC requirements are not being conformed to within their work area
  • Avoid endangerment to any other person through any act or omission
  • Only use equipment you are trained to use and operate the equipment in a way that is safe, protects the environment and doesn't cause undue community impacts.
  • Participate in HSEC training provided to them
  • Report all incidents; including but not limited to injuries, near miss, community interactions and impacts, environmental impacts, spills, unsafe work practices, etc.
