L1/Lateral Nexteer Automotive has an exciting opportunity in our manufacturing operations area as a Maintenance Supervisor. Our Maintenance Supervisors are highly effective in managing complex situations, and they can drive their teams to effectively handle any and all situations that face them. The ideal candidate will effectively manage resources, will be able to interact with multiple departments, be proactive in health and safety processes and procedures, and be knowledgeable in union related issues. A solid understanding of ISO9001 and TS16949 standards and mechanical and electrical systems is required. To be successful in this position, the chosen candidate should possess exemplary time management skills, display highly effective communication skills, and possess the ability to motivate and manage employees.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for effective use of resource allocation, including personnel and material Own up-time of equipment Complies with the terms of local and national labor agreements Implements corporate policies Manages complex situations through interaction with internal and external customers Keeps management informed of developments as they occur Maintains department records (top 5 downtime, indirect materials spend, P.M. compliance, etc.) Maintains corporate management control systems
QUALIFICATIONS
Associates or Bachelor degree or Journeyman card in mechanical or electrical is preferred or equivalent experience. Knowledge of processes and procedures High level of oral and written communication skills and problem solving techniques Knowledge of scheduling and other management systems Relatively high level of analytical ability where problems are complex High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees and elicit work output Knowledge of quality control procedures Ability to work alternate shifts/schedules
