Director of Facilities Maintenance This role is a hands-on leader who supports our portfolio of hotels by partnering with Chief Engineers to solve complex maintenance challenges, lead renovation projects, and elevate the performance of our engineering teams. This position is built on mentorship, accountability, and empathy—developing people while ensuring our properties operate at the highest standard. Key Responsibilities Lead with a people-first mindset by mentoring, coaching, and supporting Chief Engineers and engineering teams across multiple properties Partner with hotel teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance and facility issues Foster accountability by setting clear expectations and following through on performance and project outcomes Support and help lead renovation and capital improvement projects from planning through execution Collaborate with general contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget Travel to properties as needed to provide hands-on leadership and support Promote a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and pride in our facilities Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and extend the life of building systems and equipment Ensure consistency in maintenance standards, safety practices, and brand expectations Qualifications 8+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, engineering, or hotel operations Proven leadership experience with a focus on mentorship, accountability, and team development Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) Experience with renovations, capital projects, or working with general contractors preferred Ability to lead through influence, build relationships, and communicate effectively across teams Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach Willingness to travel regularly to hotel locations About TPI Hospitality Celebrating 50+ years in the industry Empowering culture that fosters personal and professional growth Opportunities for advancement across 25+ hotels and restaurants in Minnesota and Florida Twelve-time nominee for Best Places to Work by the Business Journal Benefits Medical/Dental Insurance 401(k) & matching Paid Time Off (PTO) & Holiday Pay Volunteer Time Off (VTO), Bereavement, and School Conference Leave Employee Discounts & Tuition Discount
