This role leads a team of technicians with varied skill levels, manages preventive and predictive maintenance programs, coordinates repairs, and partners with other departments to support smooth day‑to‑day operations. The successful Maintenance Manager candidate combines technical expertise with strong leadership, planning, and communication skills and the ability to generate and work within a variable budget that changes with revenue. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management (A deep understanding of leadership will be a critical component of our hiring process) Lead, mentor, and develop a maintenance team with a wide range of experience levels, from entry‑level technicians to seasoned specialists. Adapt leadership style to meet individual needs, providing hands‑on coaching when necessary and empowering experienced team members to take ownership of complex tasks. Build a collaborative, high‑performance culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Assign work orders, manage staffing schedules, and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities. Maintenance Operations Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving hydraulics, electrical systems, boilers, HVAC, and facility infrastructure. Support maintenance and optimization of EPS and EPP plastics presses; experience with these molding systems or similar processing equipment is a strong plus. Coordinate emergency repairs, equipment upgrades, and capital improvement projects. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, equipment histories, and compliance documentation. Facilities Maintenance Manage building systems including lighting, plumbing, HVAC, structural components, and grounds. Oversee inspections, repairs, and upgrades to ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient facility. Partner with contractors and vendors for specialized facility services and large‑scale projects. TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Champion TPM principles to improve equipment reliability, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency. Collaborate with production teams to promote autonomous maintenance, operator ownership, and early equipment detection practices. Apply TPM tools such as root cause analysis, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies to drive long‑term performance gains. Planning & Budgeting Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including labor, spare parts, and capital expenditures. Source vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee contractor performance. Recommend equipment replacements, upgrades, and long‑term maintenance strategies based on data and lifecycle analysis. Safety & Compliance Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA and other regulatory standards. Conduct routine safety inspections and implement corrective actions. Train staff on safety procedures, equipment operation, and emergency protocols. Qualifications Required Proven experience in maintenance management or a senior maintenance role. Demonstrated ability to lead teams with diverse experience levels and technical backgrounds. Strong understanding of hydraulics, electrical systems, and boiler operations. Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Have a strong Say-Do, cannot fail attitude. Background in manufacturing, industrial, commercial, or facilities environments. Preferred Experience with plastics presses, injection molding equipment, or similar industrial machinery. Technical degree or certification in engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field. Experience implementing or supporting TPM initiatives.
