Located in our Poplar Bluff, MO location, you will be the Maintenance Manager. Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Manager directs the activities of Maintenance, Automation, and Facilities teams. Incumbent is responsible for all Plant and Departmental goals, including reliability, cost reduction, waste reduction, safety, quality improvements, downtime reduction, as well as ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. In addition, this position will monitor progress towards goals and make certain that capital projects and other resources are being utilized to provide maximum benefits to the facility. Incumbent works collectively with Plant Leadership to actualize Gates vision and ensure objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities Team Management:
Manage day-to-day activities of Maintenance department and outside contractors. Will set goals, priorities, monitor progress, and evaluate performance of staff to ensure the maximum benefit of the resources expended. Creates an empowered environment, ensuring that the Maintenance organization and its people understand the goals and objective of the business and that they have the resources and support to accomplish them. Establishes an environment that ensures and supports open and healthy communications.
Process & Program Standardization:
Responsible for ensuring that all maintenance processes are completely documented (including Capital start up plans, SOPs, DOPs, and run documents), and implement any changes to these processes. Accountable for the development and implementation of effective preventive maintenance programs, along with the establishment of a proficient MRO and inventory
Budget Management:
Creates operating budgets and capital budgets with other leadership teams members. Manage department expense budgets with appropriate accounting information and support. Participates in the business planning and budgeting process. Develops short and long-term cost containment/reduction strategies. Manages operating budget for Facilities and maintenance. Prepares and coordinates maintenance schedules to achieve monthly PM and Calibration compliance on time as well as complete needed workload list and continuous improvement activities. Oversees diagnostic, monitoring, trouble shooting, root cause, repair and preventive maintenance of company's facilities, manufacturing equipment, electrical systems, HVAC, boiler and air compressors. Implement and conduct routine predictive testing to increase machine reliability including vibration analysis, air leak detection, thermo inspection etc. Supervises maintenance facilitators on multiple shifts. Uses plant computerized maintenance management system to schedule PM, assign personnel, order parts, and maintain appropriate level of critical spare parts inventory. Administers and maintains the Gates TPM program Responsibilities include repair cost monitoring, and departmental labor, parts, outside services, and supplies budgeting and cost reduction in all areas Responsible for ensuring compliance with, and maintaining comprehensive records regarding, all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and requirements. Contracting with and overseeing the activities of various contractors for the fulfillment of plant/facilities maintenance responsibilities reviewing and monitoring cost and quality of work. Develops and implements new and Lean methods, procedures, and systems to improve OEE on machinery. Tracks, monitors and improves top downtime contributors to drive success in the organization. Coordinate team on projects to prioritize Safety, Quality and Delivery solutions for Operations teams. Supervisory Responsibilities 3+ direct reports Manages a generally homogeneous team; adapts plans and sets priorities to meet service and/or operational challenges Has performance management and people development responsibility for managers or associates Provides subject matter guidance to associates, colleagues and/or customersAbout You BS/BA or equivalent (8-10 years of experience) Prefer BA/BS degree in engineering or a related field A minimum of 5 years of experience in management or supervision of maintenance function in a manufacturing environment. Strong and effective management and supervisory skills are required, including planning, organizing, communicating, influencing, gathering and using information, and motivating to achieve results. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
