Dickerson & Bowen - Paving the way for growth and development since 1947 D&B is a leading provider of aggregates, asphalt and asphalt paving services in central and southern Mississippi. D&B operates four asphalt plants and two active sand and gravel plants and is a natural extension to our recently established Southeast platform, further strengthening our vertically integrated footprint. General Summary The Plant Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for leading all fixed plant maintenance activities for aggregate, asphalt, wash plant, crushing, and supporting facilities. This position develops and executes maintenance strategies that maximize equipment reliability, operational availability, safety performance, environmental compliance, and cost efficiency. The Maintenance Superintendent plans, coordinates, and supervises all preventive, predictive, corrective, and capital maintenance activities while leading maintenance personnel and contractors. The role partners closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Safety, and Finance to ensure plant assets consistently support production requirements. Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs) KRA 1:
Safety Leadership Key Responsibilities:
Lead all maintenance activities in compliance with safety standards, MSHA, OSHA, environmental requirements and company policies. Conduct JHAs, pre-task planning, LOTO verification and risk assessments. Ensure contractor safety compliance. Investigate incidents and near misses. KRA 2:
Develop annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly maintenance plans. Manage PM schedules Ensure work orders are prioritized and completed. Maintain equipment history and records. KRA 4:
Develop shutdown and outage schedules. Coordinate manpower and contractor resources. Lead major rebuilds and commissioning activities. Manage maintenance backlog. KRA 5:
Maintenance Cost Management Key Responsibilities:
Develop maintenance budgets and forecasts. Track labor, parts and contractor expenditures. Evaluate repair-versus-replace decisions. Support annual budget preparation. KRA 6:

Lead mechanics, electricians and contractors. Conduct performance reviews. Develop training and succession plans. Promote accountability and continuous improvement. KRA 8:
Analyze maintenance KPIs. Standardize maintenance practices. Utilize reporting tools. Identify capital improvement opportunities. Education High School Diploma or equivalency. Work Experience 5+ years in construction management and/or craft supervision experience (i.e. Foreman) in a similar field of construction. Knowledge, skills, and abilities Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); company policies, procedures and standards. Communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard.
