Job Responsibilities The Chief Engineer will be required to wear multiple hats and have a good sense of organization and time prioritization. The candidate must be able to delegate tasks and possess strong communication skills. Oversee all maintenance tasks and ensure they are addressed, resolved, and properly completed. Manage all maintenance work orders and see each work order to completion Inspect maintenance work for quality control as needed Communicate maintenance repairs and timing with guests. Communicate and work with outside vendors, scheduling, logistics, etc. Ordering inventory as needed Ensuring all work orders are properly completed Work and communicate with office personnel on a daily basis Guest Room and Public Areas duties will include unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, plumbing, electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners, cosmetic items, replacing electrical switches and outlets, assisting with high speed internet problems, HVAC problems and programming TV's. Maintaining Property Standards Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities in order to determine the type of work required. Maintains accurate logs and records as required. Operates generators and fire pumps as necessary. Provides emergency response services 24/7. Repairs equipment (e.g., refrigeration, laundry) as necessary Supervises the day to day operations of Engineering and related departments. Maintaining Property Standards Address and resolve all customer problems in an efficient and effective manner. Plan daily operations of the Engineering department Make room inspections daily and as necessary. Make inspections of entire hotel and related areas once a week and as necessary. Maintain guest rooms furniture fixtures and walls as specified by interior design schedules. Conduct daily property tour of the hotel and exterior perimeter for debris and trash removal; Check the lighting and irrigation periodically. Position requires prolonged walking, standing, kneeling, bending, crawling, reaching, stooping, squatting, grasping and twisting. Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager.
