Job Description

The Mission As our Maintenance Manager II, you aren't just supervising repairs; you are the architect of uptime. You will lead a dedicated team of technicians and support staff, ensuring that our maintenance programs are executed with precision and that safety is never compromised. Key Responsibilities (The Heavy Lifting): Lead the
Crew:
Mentor and develop your shop team. You'll be responsible for scheduling, performance management, and fostering a culture of excellence. Command the
Shop:
Direct all maintenance activities, from routine PMs to major overhauls, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Safety Champion:
Own the safety culture in the shop. Conduct training, enforce PPE standards, and ensure every bolt is tightened and every inspection is perfect.
Operational Synergy:
Work hand-in-hand with the Operations team to prioritize equipment repairs and minimize downtime for our routes.
Inventory & Vendor Mastery:
Manage parts inventory and build strong relationships with external vendors to keep the supplies flowing and costs in check.
Compliance Expert:
Ensure all fleet records and shop operations meet DOT, OSHA, and environmental regulations. What You Bring to the
Table:
The Foundation:
High School Diploma or GED (Required).
The Credentials:
DOT certification for air brake inspection and a valid CDL (or the drive to get one within 6 months).
The Experience:
Substantial supervisory experience in a heavy-duty truck maintenance environment. You know your way around a diesel engine and a leadership meeting.
Tech Fluency:
Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience using fleet management software (like TMW or JDEdwards) to track work orders and assets.
