On or before July 2, 2026 Position Summary Onslow Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced, high-urgency Director of Maintenance for either a full-time permanent position or interim leader for a temp-to-perm opportunity. This critical role oversees all facility operations, physical plant maintenance, and safety compliance for our healthcare campus. We are open to immediate interim leadership candidates with the potential to convert to permanent, or direct-hire professionals ready to hit the ground running by early July.
Key Responsibilities Facility Operations:
Direct daily operations of building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure total readiness for Joint Commission, CMS, DHSR, and OSHA inspections.
Team Leadership:
Manage, mentor, and schedule the facility maintenance technicians and engineering staff.
Budgetary Control:
Oversee the department's operational budget and execute capital improvement projects.
Vendor Management:
Negotiate and manage contracts for external service providers and construction crews.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum 5+ years of facilities management experience, strictly within a hospital or healthcare setting.
Knowledge:
Deep understanding of NFPA codes, life safety codes, and healthcare regulatory standards.
Leadership:
Proven track record of managing technical teams and large-scale facility budgets.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Facilities Management preferred; equivalent technical experience accepted.
Certifications:
CHFM (Certified Healthcare Facility Manager) certification is highly desirable.
