Fleet & Maintenance Manager Raleigh Concrete LLC Raleigh, NC Job Details Full-time From $85,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Spanish Concrete mixer Equipment repair Heavy equipment operation English Fleet management Vehicle maintenance Diesel engine repair Full Job Description About the Role Responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, compliance, and operational readiness of all company vehicles and equipment across multiple divisions, including ready-mix trucks, tankers, pump trucks, dump trucks, trailers, service vehicles, heavy equipment, and support equipment. This role is responsible for leading the shop operation, improving equipment uptime, reducing downtime, managing preventative maintenance programs, controlling repair costs, ensuring DOT compliance, and creating accountability across drivers, mechanics, dispatch, and plant operations. The Leader We Need The ideal candidate is highly organized, mechanically knowledgeable, hands-on when needed, and capable of managing people, vendors, priorities, and systems in a fast-paced construction materials environment with changing operational demands. What You'll Do Fleet & Equipment Oversight Oversee all fleet maintenance operations for ready-mix, tanker, pumping, aggregates, dumpsters, and support vehicles Ensure all equipment remains safe, compliant, and operational Manage preventative maintenance schedules and ensure PM compliance Coordinate and prioritize daily repairs and shop workload Reduce vehicle downtime and improve fleet reliability Track and manage out-of-service equipment status Oversee emergency breakdown response and after-hours escalation when necessary Monitor fleet utilization and replacement planning Shop Management Supervise mechanics, shop personnel, and outside vendors Assign and prioritize repair work orders Ensure repairs are completed accurately and timely Maintain organized shop operations, cleanliness, and safety standards Monitor mechanic productivity and accountability Ensure proper documentation of repairs, labor hours, and parts usage Systems & Reporting Manage fleet systems including Fleetio, Samsara, and related maintenance software Maintain accurate fleet records, PM schedules, service history, and asset tracking Track KPIs including downtime, PM completion rate, road calls, tire costs, fuel efficiency, and mechanic productivity Provide regular reporting to leadership regarding fleet condition and operational concerns What You Bring 5+ years of fleet management experience preferred Experience managing heavy-duty truck fleets and/or construction equipment Strong knowledge of diesel equipment, DOT compliance, preventative maintenance, and fleet operations Experience supervising mechanics and shop operations Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues simultaneously Experience with fleet management software preferred Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required Why you'll love it here We're dedicated to fostering an environment where our employees can thrive both personally and professionally.
