We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Maintenance Harvest Superintendent to join our team at Sustainable Beef. In this role, you will oversee all maintenance activities supporting harvest operations, ensuring equipment reliability, minimal downtime, and safe, efficient processing. You will lead maintenance teams in troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives across harvest systems and equipment. As a key leader, you will collaborate closely with operations, quality assurance, and food safety teams to align maintenance activities with production goals and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety, reliability, and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily maintenance operations for all harvest equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for harvest systems and machinery. Lead troubleshooting and repair efforts for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Collaborate with harvest operations to coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules. Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies. Support food safety and USDA compliance by maintaining equipment in sanitary and operational condition. Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for reliability improvements and cost reduction. Manage maintenance work orders and track completion using maintenance management systems. Train, mentor, and develop maintenance supervisors and technicians to build team capability. Oversee scheduling, labor allocation, and attendance for maintenance team members. Manage maintenance budgets, including labor, parts, and external services. Handle other responsibilities as assigned across all shifts to support continuous operation. Act as an on-call resource for emergency troubleshooting and repairs, with a commitment to maintaining facility uptime and safety.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. 5-10 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in meat processing or food production. Prior experience in the meat processing or food industry is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of harvest equipment, conveyors, and processing systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Familiarity with maintenance management software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members, management, and regulatory auditors. Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Participate in training programs to improve skills. Follow all company policies and procedures.Functional Requirements:
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and physical hazards. Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods, including during equipment inspections and repairs. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. Capable of working in elevated areas, including catwalks or ladders, as necessary to maintain equipment. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call availability, depending on harvest operations. Strong communication and leadership skills to manage a diverse team of maintenance professionals.Benefits:
