Job Description

The Opportunity The main objective of this position is to supervise daily team activities of mechanics in the maintenance and repair of various types of cranes and equipment that may include Ship-to-Shore cranes, remote/automated/piloted stacking cranes, trans-lifters, and shuttle trucks.
What You'll Do:
Responsibilities Promotes safety awareness and ensures compliance with all security, safety (OSHA), and environmental regulations and policies within work areas at all times. Promotes Planning measures to ensure operational success. Responsible for assigning labor to each specific job as outlined by management. Coordinates with Schedulers on preventative and corrective crane repairs during the assigned shift. Exercises independent judgment to reassign labor as needed to execute repairs on equipment that comes down during the shift. Coordinates and plans emergent repairs that occur during the shift. Develops and maintains reports for all assigned tasks and work started and/or completed during the shift. Manages relationships with ILA partners working within workspace. Ensures compliance to labor contracts and agreements. Ensures that disciplinary actions are consistent with company policies, and administers disciplinary and performance improvement measures. Provides ongoing feedback and coaches team members through issues or escalations. Exercises independent judgment to make efficient decisions to break for meals, "cut," or "roll-through" labor in order to meet organizational goals. Recommends labor as needed to execute repairs on equipment that comes down during the shift. Documents work in record keeping systems (EAM, EA sheet, etc.) along with pass down notes between rotating shifts. Monitors work to ensure employees are following established crane maintenance guidelines and procedures. Coordinates assest availability within immediate department and partnering operational departments. Handles daily activites and works with other ACMs in a manner that drives operational excellence, continual improvement, and teamwork in accordance with organizational goals. Provides feedback to leaders and assists in decision-making. Accountable for identifying and ordering correct parts and scheduling repairs per best-known practices. Attends management meetings per rotation with other ACMs. Follows dress code policy for ACMs. Performs other duties as assigned. The Port of Virginia is a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week, 365-day-a-year operation, schedule and location may vary based on the needs of the operation.

Continued education or Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Licenses, Certifications, and Credentials Valid driver's license; Transportation Worker Identification Credential, Relevant Technical Certification required. Work Experience Five years of related experience required or Bachelor's degree in related field; One year of experience in leadership capacity required.
