Facility Maintenance Manager

The Facility Manager is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of all facility systems within a state-licensed cannabis cultivation and manufacturing facility. This position requires a tentured professional with expertise in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, irrigation, and building automation systems to ensure peak facility performance, compliance, and uptime. The Facility Manager plays a critical role in supporting cultivation operations by ensuring all environmental control systems, power distribution, water treatment, and processing equipment function efficiently, reliably, and safely. Key Responsibilities Facility Operations & Maintenance

• Oversee the daily operation of all facility infrastructure including HVACD, irrigation, lighting, electrical, water treatment, security, and automation systems.
• Develop and manage a preventive and predictive maintenance program for all major systems and equipment.
• Maintain strict adherence to environmental setpoints (temperature, humidity, VPD, CO₂, airflow) in support of optimal plant growth.
• Ensure all equipment operates within manufacturer specifications and regulatory compliance. Engineering & Technical Oversight
• Interpret engineering drawings, equipment specifications, and facility blueprints.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
• Collaborate with cultivation and processing leadership to implement energy-efficient and sustainable facility practices.
• Manage upgrades, retrofits, and commissioning of new equipment and systems. Compliance & Safety
• Ensure all facility operations comply with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, local building codes, and state cannabis regulations.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols, lockout/tagout, chemical handling, and PPE standards.
• Maintain detailed records of facility inspections, repairs, maintenance logs, and compliance reports. Leadership & Management
• Supervise a team of maintenance technicians, engineers, and contractors.
• Train staff in safe and efficient use of facility systems and equipment.
• Coordinate with Cultivation, Processing, and Compliance teams to align facility functions with production schedules.
• Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and procurement of parts and supplies. Project Management
• Oversee capital improvement projects including HVAC retrofits, facility expansions, irrigation upgrades, and automation integrations.
• Track budgets, timelines, and contractor deliverables.
• Report project status and operational metrics to site leadership.

Salary $100000 - $110000 USD per year Required Skills Minimum 7 years of experience managing large-scale facility systems, preferably in pharmaceutical, food production, or cannabis cultivation (preferred). Demonstrated expertise with HVACD, chilled water systems, boilers, lighting controls, irrigation/fertigation systems, and building automation systems (BAS/SCADA).
