About Us The Calais School is a state-approved provider of special education serving students in grades K through 12 Plus with multiple learning disabilities. Our mission is to help every child realize and build upon their strengths and gifts, making a difference one child at a time. We foster a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and excellence in service to our students. This is a Part-Time position, and the schedule and hours will be determined.
Responsibilities:
Assist in maintaining school buildings and grounds in excellent condition. Help promote the safety, health, and comfort of students and employees throughout school buildings and grounds. Vendor management and communication. Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projects. Move equipment and materials within and between school buildings as needed. Work overtime during emergencies to prevent disruption of school operations. Serve as a substitute custodian when necessary. Follow and uphold all district policies at all times. Stay informed about new information, innovative ideas, and maintenance techniques. Serve as the primary contact for emergency-related issues after 3:00 PM. Adhere to all district health and safety policies, including the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan. Perform other duties as assigned by Administrative Staff.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent experience required Boiler licenses preferred Previous maintenance experience, preferably in a school setting
COMPETENCIES
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and
EXPERIENCE
Ability to perform a variety of basic maintenance tasks using hand and power tools. Ability to read and follow repair and instruction manuals. Strong communication and customer service skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to walk up and down stairs during emergency drills or situations. PM21 PI688a96a5-
