Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to lead daily manufacturing operations at our NJ facility. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for supervising shop personnel, coordinating production activities, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The ideal candidate has strong manufacturing experience, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to keep production moving while supporting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Supervise daily machine shop, fabrication, and assembly operations to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of jobs. Coordinate closely with the Production Manager, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality teams to meet production goals and quality standards. Assign work, manage staff schedules, support employee training, and assist with performance evaluations. Monitor production progress and resolve issues that may affect quality, delivery, or efficiency. Oversee proper use and maintenance of machinery, tools, and equipment to minimize downtime. Enforce safety procedures and maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Work with purchasing and inventory teams to help ensure materials, parts, and supplies are available when needed. Maintain accurate production records and report key operational updates to management. Support continuous improvement efforts to improve shop productivity, organization, and overall performance. Qualifications Proven experience as a Shop Foreman, Machine Shop Foreman, Lead Machinist, or similar manufacturing leadership role. Strong knowledge of machining, fabrication, assembly processes, tools, and production equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and work instructions. Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and general manufacturing safety practices. Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to coordinate effectively with production, engineering, purchasing, quality, and outside vendors. Hands-on, practical approach with the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
