Job Title:
Mold Shop Foreman Shift:
Days Department:
Mold Shop FLSA Status Exempt SUMMARY The Mold Shop Foreman is responsible for the seamless execution of machining operations and the mechanical integrity of all production equipment. This role bridges the gap between high-level production schedules and floor-level execution, ensuring that all parts are manufactured on time and machines are maintained at peak performance. This position provides direct supervision and leadership for all Machinists and Welders across both the Day Shift and the Evening Shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Personnel Supervision & Leadership Multi-Shift Management:
Directly manage, coordinate, and oversee the daily activities of Machinists and Welders on the Day Shift and the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift.
Technical Training:
Lead the training and development of all shop personnel to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Tooling & Resources:
Ensure that all machinists and welders are equipped with the necessary tools, materials, and information to perform their jobs effectively.
Documentation & Instructions:
Prepare and post all Process Sheets and Drawings for jobs scheduled or in fabrication. Create and post formal Work Instructions as required to maintain quality and safety standards.
Personnel & Coverage:
Manage shift attendance, schedule vacations, and coordinate weekend coverage as needed to meet production demands. 2.
Production & Schedule Management Production Readiness:
Ensure all parts needed for production are manufactured on time and meet exact specifications to prevent downtime.
Daily Scheduling:
Own and update the machining schedule daily to reflect current needs. Proactively plan workload and resource allocation as far in advance as possible to ensure seamless production.
Inter-Departmental Support:
Manage and fulfill all necessary requests for parts or repairs from other departments (e.g., Quality, Decor, or Maintenance) in a timely manner to support total plant operations.
Work Order Administration:
Create, manage, and close out all work orders within Maximo to maintain accurate equipment history and labor tracking. 3. Maintenance & Vendor Relations Preventative Maintenance (PM): Proactively schedule necessary PMs and planned downtime for all shop machinery.
Equipment Reliability:
Coordinate with machine support, external vendors, and the weld shop to ensure all equipment is in good condition and running at optimal capacity.
Repair Approvals:
Responsible for obtaining technical information, lead times, and formal quotes for repairs. All repair data must be presented to the Manager for approval before work begins. 4.
Shop Operations & Safety Inventory & Materials:
Manage material inventory in coordination with the storeroom to ensure raw materials are available before they are needed on the floor.
Housekeeping:
Maintain a clean and organized Mold Shop area.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure all required PPE is being used at all times and detect/correct safety hazards daily.
General:
Perform other reports, track KPIs, and complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Experience:
Advanced knowledge of mold making, CNC machining, and welding. Prior experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
Safety & Compliance:
Ability to detect safety hazards and strictly follow/enforce safety rules and procedures on a daily basis.
Analytical & Project Management:
Proven experience in project management and analytical expertise; must have strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
Computer Literacy:
Must have strong computer skills, including proficiency in
Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, and Maximo Communication:
Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present ideas, facts, and recommendations effectively to management.
Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to professionally interact with all levels of personnel across different departments.
Organization:
Well-developed organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
Adaptability:
Self-motivated individual with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while easily adapting to changing production situations.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Education:
High School Diploma (Required); Technical Degree (Preferred).
Experience:
5+ years in mold making/machining; 2+ years in a supervisory role.
Technical:
Proficient in CNC/Manual machining and welding processes.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. Manufacturing/Warehouse/Office Environment. This description reflects the principal functions of the job for the purpose of job evaluation. Pay:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
