Full Job Description Work Setting:
Hybrid Hazen is seeking a highly experienced Maintenance and Reliability Specialist with 20+ years of experience designing and implementing maintenance and reliability best practice programs for UK water sector clients. This role focuses on driving operational excellence, modernizing maintenance programs, and improving asset reliability through advanced maintenance excellence strategies. You will act as a trusted advisor to water utilities, guiding complex programs across operations and maintenance transformation, while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Advisory & Client Leadership Lead complex consulting engagements across operations, maintenance, and reliability best practice domains including opportunity assessment, roadmap development, and implementation support Define and deliver maintenance and reliability excellence transformation strategies for water and wastewater utilities in domains such as reliability, condition management, work execution management, leadership, and asset management. Serve as a trusted advisor to client executives, asset managers, and operational leaders Lead client workshops, executive briefings, and stakeholder alignment sessions Operations & Maintenance Excellence Advise on advanced maintenance strategies (predictive, condition-based, reliability-centered maintenance) Drive improvements in asset reliability, uptime, and lifecycle cost optimization Integrate operational data into maintenance and operational decision-making Support development of enterprise asset management and maintenance frameworks Required Skills & Experience 20+ years of experience in the water sector (utility or consulting) B.S. degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering Certified Reliability Manager (CMRP, CRL) Extensive knowledge of water and wastewater operations and maintenance practices Deep expertise in maintenance and reliability best practices Proven experience leading large-scale transformation or modernization programs including change management, coaching, mentoring, and training Experience with enterprise systems (EAM, CMMS, GIS, data platforms) Project management experience Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff and clients Self-starter with attention to detail Strong organizational skills Proficiency in all MS Office based computer software
Educational Requirements:
BS degree in environmental, agricultural, civil, mechanical, or chemical engineering (MS or ME preferred)

Temporary Role:
July 1, 2026 to December 31, 2027
