Automotive Service Manager

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive service management, with a focus on dealership experience. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge and excellent customer service skills to effectively manage a team of technicians and deliver high-quality automotive repairs and maintenance. Duties Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity. Manage and mentor service technicians, providing guidance on automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. Implement effective upselling strategies to promote additional services and products to customers. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and provide accurate auto estimating for repairs needed. Maintain high standards of customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns promptly. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the service area. Collaborate with the sales team to enhance overall dealership performance through effective communication. Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock. Prepare reports on service department performance, including sales metrics and customer feedback. Skills Proven experience in auto service management within a dealership environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair, including transmissions, brake repair, oil changes, and diesel engine repair. Proficient in automotive diagnostics with a solid understanding of vehicle maintenance practices. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients. Experience in service writing and managing service technician workflows effectively. Familiarity with auto estimating processes and sales techniques related to automotive services. Knowledge of alignment, suspension systems, tire services, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repair is advantageous. Cash handling experience is preferred to assist with transaction processing in the service department.
