1 Year with one (1) 1 Year Renewal Option One (1) Position Available US Citizenship Required (Q Position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matters.
JOB SUMMARY
: Join us in solving problems that support the security of our nation and the world! Detonator Production is looking for a highly customer service and collaboratively focused Work Control Planner to join their Infrastructure and Planning Office (IPO). This vital team member will be an integral part of supporting programmatic equipment maintenance planning and execution activities across the Detonator Production division. The Work Control Planner ensures accuracy with the development of preventive and corrective maintenance planning packages for unique program equipment. Additionally, will support ensuring data accuracy across Asset Suite CMMS, MicroStrategy, and internal backlog tracking tools while maintaining compliance with Laboratory maintenance and work authorization requirements.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
: Develops and/or reviews work packages including time, material, and labor estimates, written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, and/or safety and testing requirements for the implementation and control of operations, maintenance, or modification of work activities within a given facility or area. Specific planning duties may be related to mechanical, electrical, chemical and/or radiological equipment, policies, and procedures and may also include resolving work restraints and bringing work packages to final closure. Safety and security are a primary responsibility for all Laboratory employees. Assures safety and security compliance, maintains required safety and security training, and makes safety and security an integral part of every task, including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security. Prepares, reviews, and issues equipment and/or system modification, corrective maintenance, and/or preventative maintenance work packages for unique and/or complex activities in unique and/or complex systems in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations. Analyzes time and material requirements for unique and/or complex work activities. Prepares detailed specifications for materials and labor estimates for unique and/or complex activities. Takes the lead in developing step-by-step instructions for work for unique and/or complex activities. Manages and expedites established priority of work packages. Prepares and/or reviews efficient and specific instructions for the isolation, containment or de-energization of various unique and/or complex mechanical, physical, electrical, chemical and/or radiological systems according to established procedures and regulations. Manages various functional and administrative activities in conjunction with the primary work control/work package development including, but not limited to, permit development, testing requirements, documentation generation, records management, database information management, retrieval and review, and/or training. Understands and adheres to all Laboratory and industry regulatory guidance and governance specific to work control and planning. Ensures all work control results, materials, processes, and final products meet quality specifications and are completed according to established requirements. Fosters a mutually respectful and inclusive work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.
WORK HOURS
: A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules including 5/8s (8 hour/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workday has 30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
Education:
Requires a bachelor's degree and 15 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Experience:
Unique knowledge of and broad experience with unique and/or complex work control, materials management, and/or mechanical maintenance. Extensive knowledge and understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures in unique and/or complex facilities. In-depth understanding and ability to interpret various unique and/or complex mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics. Ability to fully utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system (Asset Suites and/or SAP) in maintaining and tracking work•planning activities. Extensive experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solution on unique and/or complex problems affecting work control and planning. Ability to fully conceptualize and communicate major elements of work control and planning for unique and/or complex activities, both technical and non-technical personnel. Demonstrated exceptional skill in the preparation and presentation of work control reports. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Laboratory's work control and facility policies, practices, and procedures. Extensive knowledge and understanding of legal requirements and environmental impacts affecting work control and planning. Ability to self-supervise.
