Lead Maintenance Technician

Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support operations at a truss manufacturing facility in Mound House, NV. Candidate must be open to learning new skills and mechanical systems on the job. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment used in the production of wood trusses, ensuring maximum uptime, safety, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including saws, presses, conveyors, and pneumatic systems Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and complete timely repairs Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery and automated systems Conduct inspections to identify wear, damage, or safety hazards Maintain and repair hand tools, power tools, and facility systems Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime Assist in installation and setup of new machinery and equipment Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and parts inventory Follow all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures Collaborate with production staff to improve equipment reliability and efficiency Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred 2+ years of maintenance experience (manufacturing or lumber/truss industry preferred) Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and troubleshooting techniques Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyor systems Basic understanding of PLCs and automation systems Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and manuals Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in a production environment for extended periods Comfortable working in varying temperatures and industrial conditions Ability to climb ladders and work at heights when necessary Work Environment Fast-paced manufacturing facility specializing in wood truss production Exposure to dust, noise, and moving machinery Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Schedule Full-time position; may include overtime, weekends, or on-call work as needed Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Retirement plan options Equal Opportunity Employer We are an equal opportunity employer and value a diverse workforce.
