Job Description

Tesla has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Supervisor, Production Engineering to join the Production Engineering team at the Gigafactory in Sparks, Nevada. We are seeking an energetic, skilled, cost-conscious, team-oriented individual to be responsible for the performance of equipment and maintenance technicians on shift. The Maintenance Supervisor will manage a team of technicians to ensure that perform at a high level while meeting the needs of the production floor. The individual will be responsible for all production engineering-related metrics for their shift. They will performance manage their team to generate the highest value from every employee while maintaining a high level of technical ability. Manage, mentor and lead a team of Maintenance Technicians at Gigafactory Nevada focused on manufacturing equipment, specifically within our Drive Unit team Promote and adhere to all equipment operations safely, with high focus on equipment performance and availability Drive improvement of technician via KPI's including MTTR, Technician utilization, offline projects and UPDT/PT execution Coach technicians to execute and communicate equipment servicing needs to increase equipment reliability Lead and assist technicians in resolving unplanned down events and driving successful recoveries with high reliability Make daily resource allocation decisions, balancing competing priorities, to serve the needs of the maintenance, engineering and production communities Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations 3+ years of experience managing teams of people in a high-volume manufacturing setting preferred
Manufacturing Knowledge:
Proficient understanding of general manufacturing processes, automation, and controls. Specific experience with Fanuc robots, PLC programming, and a track record in maintaining/troubleshooting industrial electrical panels/systems
Personal Attributes:
Demonstrates reliability, initiative, and a proactive learning attitude. Adaptable in both work schedule (including compressed work weeks and night shifts) and various working environments
Communication and Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, keen attention to detail, flexibility, and exceptional prioritization abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and the capability to provide constructive feedback to team members
Safety and Physical Requirements:
Adheres strictly to safety protocols, uses all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and can meet physical demands like standing, walking for extended periods, lifting weights, and handling repetitive motions in a potentially loud environment Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)

Responsibilities include ensuring team safety training, documenting EHS incidents, proactively identifying workplace hazards, and empowering teams towards continuous operational improvements
