Job Description

A skilled nursing facility is seeking an experienced Director of Maintenance to oversee all building operations, maintenance services, and facility safety.
DUTIES:
Oversee the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of all buildings and grounds, ensuring the community meets all federal, state, and local regulations as well as company standards. Conduct regular facility inspections to monitor safety, appearance, equipment functionality, and overall condition. Supervise the maintenance team, including assigning tasks, setting schedules, and monitoring performance. Coordinate, schedule, and verify completion of all maintenance and repair activities. Manage and monitor all contracted maintenance services, ensuring timely and proper completion of work. Perform routine building repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical work, painting, and general fixes. Maintain accurate records of repairs, preventative maintenance, warranties, inspections, and related documentation. Oversee departmental operations, including budgeting, purchasing, and tracking expenditures. Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, counsel, and supervise maintenance personnel. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with State, Federal, and OSHA standards. Maintain and update all required Department of Health (DOH) logs and inspection records.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of two years experience in a nursing home setting and/or equivalent training; or a comparable combination of education and experience. At least four years of hands-on experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and general maintenance. High school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and maintain focus in high-pressure situations. Demonstrated leadership ability with strong supervisory and communication skills.
