Job Description

Join Our Hospitality Team We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chief Engineer to lead hotel maintenance and engineering operations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and overall functionality of all hotel systems while delivering an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically skilled, guest-focused, and experienced in supervising maintenance teams within a hotel or hospitality environment. Position Summary The Chief Engineer oversees the day-to-day operation of the Engineering and Maintenance Department, ensuring all hotel equipment, systems, and facilities operate efficiently and safely. This role coordinates preventive maintenance programs, manages vendor relationships, and responds quickly to operational and guest service needs. Responsibilities Lead and supervise the maintenance team to perform routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical wiring (including high and low voltage), plumbing, and mechanical equipment. Develop and implement facilities management strategies that enhance energy efficiency, safety protocols, and compliance with local regulations. Coordinate large-scale projects such as renovations or equipment upgrades, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints. Maintain detailed documentation of all maintenance activities, safety inspections, and incident reports. Oversee HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, water treatment, Ptac, Television and energy management systems Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house operations Lead, train, and schedule maintenance team members to ensure timely completion of work orders and projects Monitor and control energy usage, inventory, purchasing, and departmental budgets Coordinate repairs and maintenance with Housekeeping, Front Office, Security, and Food & Beverage departments Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, safety regulations, and hotel brand standards Respond promptly to guest concerns and emergency maintenance situations Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and operational reports Manage relationships with outside contractors and service providers Ensure all engineering spaces, workshops, and storage areas remain clean, organized, and secure Experience Proven management experience in facilities or industrial maintenance within a hospitality or manufacturing environment. Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems (including high voltage and low voltage), mechanical systems, and industrial equipment. Hands-on experience with schematics reading, troubleshooting electrical circuits using tools like ohmmeters, and working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Demonstrated ability to supervise teams effectively while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong understanding of maintenance management software (CMMS) and project management principles. Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate with staff, vendors, and emergency responders. Prior experience in facilities management or industrial manufacturing environments is highly desirable. Qualifications Required:
Minimum 3-5 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience At least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role Strong knowledge of: HVAC systems Electrical systems Plumbing and water treatment Refrigeration equipment Preventive maintenance procedures Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various indoor/outdoor conditions
Preferred:

Pay:
$55,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
