Job Description

St. Paul's Benevolent is seeking a Director of Maintenance responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance and upkeep within the Monastery and location grounds. You will lead other maintenance technicians, coordinate maintenance schedules, and ensure that all facilities are operating efficiently and safely. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
Lead and supervise other maintenance technicians. Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to ensure high performance and productivity. Foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement.
Maintenance Planning and Coordination:
Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure timely and efficient upkeep of facilities and equipment. Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance activities that minimize disruption to operations. Prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency, safety considerations, and operational needs.
Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or equipment servicing as needed. Coordinate with Monastery leadership, other staff members, and residents as appropriate. Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of equipment and minimize downtime. Manage inventory in collaboration with Monastery leadership, Retreat Center leadership, and Monastery and Retreat Center maintenance technicians.
Vehicle Maintenance and Repair:
Manage routine car maintenance, oil changes, car washing, etc., for Monastery cars.
Groundskeeping:
Manage all aspects of groundskeeping to include maintaining the exterior appearance, safety, and functionality of the Monastery buildings and grounds, landscaping, garbage removal, and clearance of snow and ice in collaboration with Retreat Center staff.
Facility Safety and Compliance:
Ensure that all facilities comply with safety regulations and industry standards. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and address safety concerns promptly. Implement safety protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
Budget Management:
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize maintenance expenditures without compromising quality or safety.
Documentation/Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inspection reports.
Requirements Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Proven experience in facility maintenance management or a similar role. Strong technical knowledge of building systems, equipment, and maintenance practices. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under pressure. Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards. Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software applications.
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical ability to perform duties that involve lifting, bending, and operating maintenance equipment.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
