Job Description

Talascend is currently seeking a Supply Chain Group Leader for a contract opportunity with our client in Lockport, New York . Overview The supply chain group leader is responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment. This role involves training, developing, and evaluating team members, leading global manufacturing processes, and supporting launch activities to meet production and quality goals. The position also emphasizes safety, lean manufacturing principles, and team mentorship. Responsibilities Participate in training, developing, and evaluating hourly team members Develop highly effective teams Lead global manufacturing systems processes and support launch and pilot activities Meet or exceed production cost schedules and maintain quality requirements Communicate department quality goals and resolve quality issues Build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union, and management Understand and administer national and local labor agreements Implement systems to prevent reoccurrence of known issues Promote safe work practices, ergonomics, health, safety, and housekeeping objectives Motivate, train, and develop employees using standardized methods Ensure team members receive adequate job instruction training Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing and variation reduction principles Coach, teach, counsel, and mentor group leaders Qualifications Experience in supply chain management or manufacturing leadership Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education We thank all applicants for their interest.
