Reports To:
Head of Facilities (HOF) and Camp Director A maintenance worker works under the direction of the Head of Facilities (HOF) and is responsible for the direct repair, maintenance, and upkeep of Camp Jeanne d' Arc's physical infrastructure, ensuring the entire site remains safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. This role focuses heavily on hands-on work and managing the day-to-day readiness of all camp facilities.

Camp Jeanne d'Arc is a hundred year-old girls summer camp located in the Adirondack mountain, New York. CJDA is on a mission to Build Strong Girls through faith, endurance, courage, confidence. What You're Responsible For (under the direction of the HOF):
Facility Repair and Maintenance:
Execute hands-on repairs, maintenance, and minor renovations across the camp, including buildings, grounds, vehicles, and utilities. Ensure the entire camp site is safe, fully functional, meets required standards, and is visually appealing. Conduct routine schedule of checks, inspections, and preventive maintenance for all camp facilities and equipment. Maintain and service camp equipment, including vehicles and essential kitchen equipment. Maintain a working inventory of parts and supplies necessary to complete immediate repairs and prevent operational disruption. Serve as the water systems operator.
Open and Close Camp:
Ensure all facilities are fully operational before the arrival of campers and are secured and in good condition at the close of the summer season.
On Call and Emergency Support:
Provide on-call emergency support during active camp session, severe weather events, and peak usage times. Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies (e.g., plumbing issues, power outages, structural damage).
Safety and Compliance Support:
Under the direction of the HOF and Camp Director Ensure facilities comply with local, state, and federal safety and health regulations (e.g., fire codes, safety equipment). Identify and report potential safety hazards, taking immediate corrective action when possible. Assist the leadership team in preparing for the annual Health Department Inspection and ACA accreditation visits.
Vendor Coordination:
Under the direction of the HOF and Camp Director Ensure all on-site vendors comply with site visitor requirements and are supervised while working.
Who You Are:
A hands-on, self-starting individual capable of taking direction from the HOF and also working independently. Organized and detail-oriented in managing tools, supplies, and maintenance schedules. Possesses strong working knowledge and practical skills in basic carpentry, landscaping, plumbing, and electrical systems. Willing to work long and flexible hours during the summer season to ensure camp operations run smoothly. Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, bend, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
What We Offer:
40 hours per week $20
- 25/hr. (starting) Possibility of promotion to Director position Funding for job-related professional development and training (e.g., certifications).

There is no guaranteed number of hours per week or weeks per year, and hours will be allocated on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Any time spent over allotted hours needs to be pre-approved by the employee's manager. Hours are not guaranteed, and you will only be paid for hours worked that have been pre-approved.
