About the Role Are you a hands-on leader with a strong background in automotive manufacturing and industrial equipment? We are seeking a Maintenance & Tooling Manager to oversee the development, optimization, and implementation of our manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility grounds. In this role, you will lead a collaborative team across our maintenance, electrical, and tooling departments. You will be the driving force behind ensuring cost efficiency, maximizing equipment functionality, and executing capital projects that propel our plant forward. Team Leadership:
Manage, mentor, and direct all employees within the maintenance, electrical engineering, and tooling departments, handling performance management and hiring.
Technical Expertise:
Work directly with the manufacturing group to provide technical guidance on production tooling and equipment capability.
Continuous Improvement:
Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement quality and equipment improvements to reduce overall manufacturing costs.
Preventative Maintenance:
Maintain, improve, and establish specifications for our preventative maintenance systems to meet customer requirements and strict Quality standards.
Strategic Planning:
Create action plans and control documentation for departmental activities to meet established plant KPIs.
Project Management:
Lead capital spending projects related to equipment or facilities, including preparing documentation and monitoring/controlling the IME Budget.
New Product Launches:
Support engineering teams by evaluating equipment readiness, tooling, programming, and overall capabilities for new product launches.
Safety & Compliance:
Establish standards and policies for installation, modifications, and testing according to engineering principles and safety/fire regulations.
Vendor Management:
Supervise and coordinate external vendors for building and equipment maintenance/construction.
Job Requirements Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. (An Associate degree in Engineering is preferred) .
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing.
Industry Knowledge:
Deep experience in polyurethane and/or automotive manufacturing is highly desired.
Technical Skills:
A strong working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, industrial machine wiring, and/or cast tooling.
Leadership:
Proven management or leadership experience is preferred. Work Environment & Physical Demands This role operates in a professional office and industrial plant environment. Must be comfortable walking, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and climbing on stairs, machines, and catwalks. Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 35 pounds.
Position Type & Schedule Type:
Full-time, Exempt Hours:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Flexibility:
Requires long hours and weekend work when necessary to support plant operations.
Travel:
Primarily local during the business day to visit contractors, suppliers, or customers, with occasional out-of-area and overnight travel. $88,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
