Lead Mechanic/Batch Plant Repair Technician

Vitale Ready Mix, a leading concrete and materials supplier in Central New York, is seeking a Lead Mechanic / Batch Plant Repair Technician to join our team at our Syracuse location. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing both ready mix equipment and concrete batch plants. The ideal candidate is someone who can take ownership of the shop, keep operations running, and step in wherever needed. What You'll Do

• Diagnose and repair diesel trucks, mixers, loaders, and heavy equipment
• Maintain and troubleshoot concrete batch plants (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic systems)
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
• Respond quickly to breakdowns and keep operations moving
• Oversee and organize shop workflow and repairs
• Coordinate with dispatch, plant operators, and management
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment What We're Looking For
• Strong experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment repair
• Experience working on or around batch plants, conveyors, or industrial equipment (preferred)
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
• Self-starter who can work independently and take ownership
• Leadership mindset — able to guide others and set the tone in the shop
