Job Description
General James M. Gavin Power Plant is a 2,600-megawatt supercritical coal-fired power station in the village of Cheshire, Ohio, United States. It is majority owned by Energy Capital Partners and a minor stake is held by Javelin Global Commodities. The Maintenance Planner leads the development of planning and scheduling initiatives, to improve safety and efficiency performance for the respective maintenance execution team(s). Planning includes both internal and contract resources, contract management, parts procurement, cost tracking, etc. Scheduling is based upon priority, resources availability and budget goals. The Planner shall have the ability to work in an individual and team environment, to ensure sustainable attention to Continuous Improvement and team collaboration. Initiatives include tasks and projects, O&M and capital, short and long range, outage and non-outage, and complex challenges. The Planner is responsible for tracking crew KPI's, which include but not limited to schedule compliance, PM compliance, backlogs, corrective action planning, and Continuous Improvement opportunities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in developing plans to improve Operations, Maintenance and Outage efficiency. Coordinate the development of input necessary to establish projected cost and duration. Assists with providing input to the annual budget and monthly forecasts. Plan all work activities in accordance with the policies, practices, standards and rules of the company. Coordinate plans with pertinent personnel to identify needed estimates. Participate in company meetings covering outage / project schedule, safety issues and operations and maintenance of equipment related to work assignments. Review work orders for accuracy. Prepares and assists with analysis of reports using the work management system (s) & Business Objects. Assists with work force and supervision to ensure that work is accomplished according to schedule and plan. Understands the use of scheduling techniques for planning and scheduling activities. Participates in the process of planning project, outage, and maintenance assigned work activities. 10. Assists in planning and estimating work activities using established standards. Participates in company meetings covering outage / project schedule, safety issues and operations and maintenance of equipment as needed to meet assigned responsibilities. Associate degree in a technical related field 3 years of work-related experience in outage / project planning, outage coordinator / project field work activities and / or plant operations; or equivalent education / work experience. Must have the ability to read and understand technical documentation, write technical reports in a clear and concise manner, communicate both in writing and verbally with craft and management personnel, possesses organizational skills necessary to maintain files and documentation related to the position, and work in a team environment. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Work Management Software, LOTO/Clearance Software Physical Requirements Exposure to varied outdoor environments, including extreme weather conditions, high noise levels, hazardous areas, and diverse work surfaces. Frequent use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hard hats, safety glasses, respirators, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, and high-voltage protective gear. Working near high-voltage equipment and operating heavy machinery, with proper training and safety protocols. Entry into confined spaces and potentially hazardous environments, often accompanied by exposure to loud machinery and equipment. Physical activities including walking, standing for extended periods, crawling, stooping, sitting, climbing vertical and inclined ladders/stairs, operating large valves, and performing tasks requiring up to 50 lbs. of pulling, turning, lifting, or carrying. Exposure to extreme heat and cold. Participation in a post-offer physical examination and drug screening, as well as ongoing random drug testing. The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience, qualifications, and location. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, and relevant qualifications. This range represents the base salary and does not include other forms of compensation, such as bonuses, benefits, or equity, which may be offered in addition to the base pay.
