Full Job Description Job Summary:
Responsible for the procurement of items, development and implementation of strategic purchasing plans, and management of supplier relationships. Other areas of responsibility include price negotiation and planning.
Duties:
Implement procurement strategy and policies. DOT fleet management and documentation. Maintenance record keeping. Supervise & direct the mechanics shop as well as the yard support staff. Manage facility repairs and preventative maintenance. Create and implement objectives and goals. Build and develop relationships with key suppliers. Identify and develop training opportunities. Order materials and services as per negotiated and appropriately approved. Review quotes. Prepare purchase requisitions, approve and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions. Maintain procurement files. Track purchasing activity and measurements. Address defective or unacceptable new goods or services with users, vendors and others to determine cause of problem and take corrective and preventative action. Manage vendor and sub-contractor relationships and assist in building effective partnerships. Responsible for documentation related to the evaluation and assessment of vendors. Liaise with Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary for the business with suppliers. Responsible for managing the purchase of new/used vehicles, equipment and assets. (ie. cars, trucks, tractors, trailers, forklifts, man lifts, cranes, small and large equipment) Also, responsible to filter out aging, costly and inefficient vehicles, equipment and assets to maintain a balanced, efficient fleet and equipment.
Experience:
A minimum of 3 to 5 years ofexperience in the industrial, rigging or general trades industries.
Qualities and Other Attributes Required :
Strong verbal and written
