Job Description

Shift:
3rd Shift Job Description Coordinates the activities of the Maintenance Group to guarantee efficient operation of the equipment and facility. Oversees routine equipment preventive maintenance to ensure optimum equipment operations. Coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of equipment; ensures quality of product and efficiency of the process through technical support of the various processes and systems. Position functions include, but are not limited to, those set forth below. Essential Functions Responsible for scheduling of all Maintenance Technicians and T/L's, including routine coverage as well as all overtime and shutdown work Guarantees Work Orders and Machine Trouble Reports are completed daily, per requirements, and issues follow-up orders as necessary Supports TPM through managing 5S of the Maintenance Areas as well as directing other TPM improvement activities. Responsible for procuring and maintaining standard stock parts for repair or maintenance purposes. Responsible to ensure proper training of current and new Maintenance Technicians. Directly supervises and directs the work of the Maintenance Department; includes training, performance management, PTO and No Pay/No Penalty approval and tracking; approval of time worked. Tracks and records routine preventive maintenance completion and guarantees efficiency of the preventive maintenance work through regular auditing. Works with Maintenance Engineer to improve or modify preventive maintenance procedures as necessary. Coordinates the repair/installation of equipment to ensure optimum utilization of equipment. Evaluates processes and downtime to determine appropriate course of action. Provide technical support to Production departments for training purposes and during production. May gather or prepare data for TSS Business Plan, Budget, and Management Review. May coordinate Cost-down or improvement activities. Other tasks as required by Management. Competencies Must have strong attention to detail Must be reliable in attendance. Ability to get along with others. Must have basic understanding of energy conservation and proper waste disposal and recycling. Must have strong mechanical aptitude, including knowledge of various robotic systems and controls. Able to troubleshoot various mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Must have strong communication and training skills. Supervisory Responsibilities Position supervises the Maintenance Department. Suggests or recommends decisions which affect the employment of Associates; includes interviewing, hiring, promoting, and termination activities. May be required to provide Supervisory support to other departments as determined by the needs of the business. Education and/or Experience Associates Degree (AA) from a two-year college or university; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to talk or hear at moderate to loud noise levels. The associate is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. May climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to troubleshoot or install equipment. Work with heights up to 40 feet. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision. Work Environment The work environment characteristics here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. The performance of this position requires frequent exposure to the manufacturing areas that may require the use of personal protective equipment such as ear, eye, head and foot.
