Duties Coordinate and complete all maintenance services and activities within various facility departments. Perform administrative duties by managing all tracking and follow-up for annual, and as-needed, maintenance of all fire protection systems, generators, and all other equipment used in the facility. Ensures that all fire hazard sources (i.e. cleaning chemicals, broken outlets, space-heaters, lighters, etc.) are reported and maintained in the appropriate manner. Ongoing review of all regulations, standards and manufacturer's instructions of fire protection systems and other facility equipment. Ensure infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures are being performed to maintain a sanitary environment at all times. Manage outside services to ensure they are properly supervised/completed in accordance with contracts/work orders. Responsible for budget management of department. Ensure that basic repairs are worked on and completed in a timely manner (i.e. Dry-walling, spackling, painting, floor care, lighting changes, basic repairs.) As required, supervise a staff of employees and manage all labor hours associated with the Maintenance department. Provide training to employees working in the department to enable them to perform the tasks required of the department. Delegate tasks appropriately to employees of the department. Maintains strong working relationships with other staff members throughout the facility. Maintains confidentiality of all resident and company information. Performs assigned tasks in accordance with acceptable standards of practice as defined by state regulations. Perform other duties that may be assigned. Specific Requirements Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information and any other personal information about the resident. Basic computer proficiencies are required.
Examples are:
ability to send and manage incoming emails; ability to turn computer on/off and operate a mouse; comfortable with opening, making changes to and saving documents. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Must be willing to accept new methods and principles and be able to incorporate them into daily work flow. Must use safe work practices by following policies and procedures. Must maintain a neat appearance and wear the required uniform for your department. Must have patience, tact and a positive attitude, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents/families. Experience Strong understanding of boilers, generators, floor care, compressors, etc, as well as various mechanical electrical and plumbing systems. Must have experience using Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
