Maintenance Supervisor - Shady Rest Care Center

The overall purpose of the maintenance supervisor position is to plan, direct, and control the overall maintenance of the facility physical plant. Incumbents perform or oversee electrical, plumbing, carpentry, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and other technical tasks. Functional literacy in English required. Prior experience in institutional maintenance/housekeeping is necessary. The ability to read blueprints/construction drawings is helpful. Excellent physical health is necessary. Prior supervisory experience helpful (larger facilities). Is certified as a Universal Technician as required by EPA 40CRR, Part 82, Subpart F in the use and recovery ofrefrigerant. Essential Functions Plans, schedules, and supervises or performs maintenance activities at the facility. Performs various tasks in a timely manner, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, heating, cooling, and refrigeration repair/renovation/adjustments. Establishes a work-log or checklist for daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly maintenance tasks and/or preventive maintenance actions. Maintains overall appearance of facility physical plant. May obtain drawings, bids for physical plant improvements. Assures compliance with applicable governmental regulation including federal, state, local, fire Marshall, and local health department. Establishes and maintains accurate records of maintenance activities. Supervises contract work.
