- Full-time Job Overview We are seeking an energetic, highly organized, and detail-oriented Service Manager to lead our automotive service department with professionalism and precision.
This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing daily shop operations, managing workflow, maintaining shop efficiency, and ensuring exceptional customer service. Our shop specializes in custom, high-performance, and high-value vehicles , where quality and craftsmanship are non-negotiable. Responsibilities Manage the daily operations of the automotive service department, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery. Develop, maintain, and oversee the shop schedule to maximize technician productivity, minimize downtime, and ensure timely completion of projects. Monitor shop efficiency, labor utilization, and workflow processes to ensure jobs move smoothly through the shop while maintaining exceptional quality standards. Coordinate repairs, custom projects, diagnostics, and vehicle builds while balancing technician workloads and customer expectations. Supervise and support service technicians, mechanics, and support staff to maintain productivity, accountability, and morale. Conduct quality control inspections and review completed work to ensure it meets the shop's standards for craftsmanship, safety, and performance. Handle customer inquiries with professionalism, providing transparent explanations of repairs, estimates, timelines, and project updates. Develop and implement strategies for upselling additional services while maintaining customer trust and delivering genuine value. Oversee automotive diagnostics and repair processes to ensure accurate assessments and timely completion of work. Maintain detailed service records, estimates, work orders, and vehicle maintenance documentation. Manage inventory levels, parts ordering, vendor relationships, and supply procurement to prevent delays and maintain efficient operations. Foster a culture focused on professionalism, accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence in automotive service. Experience Proven experience as a Service Manager, Shop Manager, or similar leadership role within an automotive repair, performance, restoration, or dealership environment. Strong understanding of shop scheduling, workflow management, labor efficiency, and operational performance metrics. Experience working with custom, high-performance, luxury, exotic, or specialty vehicles is highly preferred. Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, transmissions, brake systems, suspension systems, alignments, diesel engines, and general repair procedures. Hands-on technician or mechanic experience is highly desirable. Exceptional customer service and communication skills with the ability to build long-term client relationships. Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of managing teams in a fast-paced environment. Experience with service writing, estimating software, inventory management, and parts procurement. Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
