Job Description

JOB The Parks Facilities Crew Leader provides hands-on leadership for a wide range of facility and site maintenance work across City properties. This position performs and leads skilled repair and maintenance tasks including building repairs, basic/light electrical troubleshooting, irrigation work, concrete and asphalt patching, equipment operation, and general infrastructure upkeep.

This is a lead-worker position without its own assigned crew. The Crew Leader works alongside existing Parks Maintenance crews, receiving project assistance as needed. The role is primarily field-focused, leading by teaching, demonstrating techniques, coaching others, and performing work directly. Office time is limited to documentation, coordination, and material procurement.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Provides day-to-day field leadership, assigning tasks, guiding work methods, and ensuring safe, high-quality work.

Performs and leads skilled maintenance tasks including building repairs, light electrical work within permitted scope, irrigation troubleshooting, and minor concrete and asphalt repairs.

Operates and directs safe use of small and heavy equipment.

Assists with fleet and equipment oversight, including scheduling maintenance and monitoring equipment readiness.

Works cooperatively with all Parks Maintenance crews and coordinates shared resources for larger or specialized projects.

Coordinates with contractors performing specialized work and ensures quality and compliance.

Prepares basic reports, records, and requisitions for tools, supplies, and materials.

Interprets work orders and project instructions and turns them into practical field tasks.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Non-cash compensation includes medical, dental, vision, PERS employee pick up, and VEBA contribution.
Bilingual Pay:
Employees who can speak and/or write a language listed in the top five (5) most common languages spoken in the Lake Oswego School District, may be eligible for three percent (3%) bilingual pay.
