- PNF is seeking a Maintenance Technician Lead. This position is responsible for performing maintenance in aseptic food manufacturing facility. Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, conveyor systems, and production machines and process equipment. Maintain up to date documentation on maintenance tasks. Regular work hours will be 11am
- 7:30pm with occasional weekends.
Being part of a small team, must be flexible to cover other shifts as needed. Essential Functions Locate, troubleshoot and repair defective equipment in a timely manner. Take steps to prevent recurrence of problems based on logical analysis of the cause. Ensure effectiveness of repairs and troubleshooting. Work with the appropriate contractors to find out the cause of the problems as needed. Responsible for stable operation of the utility equipment (boilers, refrigeration system, air compressor). Provide leadership to improve the skills of Maintenance Techs. Carry out assigned corrective and preventive maintenance tasks with limited supervision. Keep maintenance Manager informed of the status of assigned tasks. Maintain documentation of work performed; work with Maintenance Manager to manage the parts using work order system. Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools, parts and equipment. Adhere to all safety, GMP, allergen and chemical control programs. Consider cost effectiveness when repairing any equipment or performing maintenance procedures Work with the Production Manager, Production, and Processing teams to schedule any maintenance tasks while ensuring not to interfere with production Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to read, write, and speak English at a level sufficient to effectively communicate with other employees, understand and communicate safety and operational matters, and understand HACCP and SQF requirements applicable to the entire facility. Good time management, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates positive working relationships with customers, vendors, co-workers and management. High level of confidentiality and discretion. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job. Must be flexible with work schedule to accommodate business and production needs. Must be willing and available to work scheduled/unscheduled overtime on an as needed basis as production/maintenance needs necessitate. Five (5) years maintenance experience in food manufacturing or similar industry. Prior experience in aseptic manufacturing environment is desirable. Technical certifications in refrigeration system/cooling tower, compressors, and/or boiler preferred. Ability to understand the step flow (bubble chart) of manufacturing equipment. Able to read electrical drawings and understand equipment systems. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to research repair methods by reading equipment manuals, searching the Internet, and obtaining information from other available sources as needed. Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, pumps and gearbox repairs desired. Ability to read blueprints schematics and P&ID's. Strong organizational, prioritization, and decision-making skills. Teamwork, creativity, and problem analysis skills. Solid written and verbal communication skills. Basic math skills. Basic computer skills including basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel) in a Windows environment.
