Shift:
Monday - Thursday 5pm - 3am; This position is eligible for a shift differential. Job Summary The Maintenance Lead is a senior, hands-on maintenance technician who directs daily maintenance activities within a non-union industrial manufacturing facility. This role provides technical leadership, coordinates work execution, and supports the Maintenance Supervisor by ensuring maintenance tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal impact to production. The Maintenance Lead works alongside technicians and serves as the primary technical resource on the floor. Primary Duties Technical Execution & Leadership Perform advanced mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs on manufacturing equipment. Lead complex or high-priority maintenance jobs and equipment shutdowns. Serve as the technical point of contact for equipment issues during assigned shifts. Ensure work meets established quality, safety, and operational standards. Daily Work Coordination Assist with daily work planning and assignment of tasks based on priority, skills, and production needs. Coordinate with production supervisor for planned downtime to complete PM's durning the week. Ensure tools, parts, and materials are available before work begins. Review completed work for accuracy and completeness. CMMS & Documentation Ensure work orders are properly opened, updated, and closed in the CMMS. Document repairs, parts usage, and equipment condition accurately. Identify repeat failures and communicate improvement opportunities. Safety & Compliance Enforce plant safety rules including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements. Lead by example in safe work practices. Identify and report unsafe conditions and near-miss incidents. Training & Team Support Mentor and train maintenance technicians on equipment and procedures. Support skills development and cross-training. Promote teamwork, accountability, and professional conduct. Continuous Improvement Support preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives. Recommend equipment and process improvements. Assist with reliability and uptime improvement efforts. Authority and Accountability Provides direction to maintenance technicians during assigned shifts. Authorized to organize and prioritize maintenance work to meet operational demands. Does not have authority for hiring, termination, or disciplinary actions, but may provide recommendations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. 5-8 years of industrial manufacturing maintenance experience required. Previous senior or lead technician experience preferred. Technical Skills Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment preferred. Ability to read schematics, drawings, and manuals. Proficient in CMMS usage. Physical Demands & Work Environment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, and work around machinery. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or respond to breakdowns as needed. Role Clarification The Maintenance Lead provides hands-on technical leadership and coordinates daily maintenance work but does not perform formal supervisory or managerial functions. #LIMI1 #DaytonParts Education / Experience Candidates should have proven experience in industrial maintenance within a heavy manufacturing environment, with the ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, and automated systems (including AC/DC drives and Allen Bradley PLCs), as well as proficiency with a variety of hand tools, power tools, and material-handling equipment. The work is physically demanding and requires frequent lifting (up to 75 lbs), working at heights up to 25 feet, climbing, bending, reaching overhead, and operating equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and machine shop tools. Strong hand-eye coordination, good vision, and the ability to work safely in hot, noisy, and occasionally dusty or oily industrial conditions are essential. The US base rate for this full-time position is 36.50. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.
